Achieved Results

The results achieved and the outcomes were beyond initial expectations. Here are some examples:

Projects developed and funding attracted:
During the training seminars, the trainees developed 95 outline project proposals. Within a brief period of time, and in spite of the relatively scarce availability of funding opportunities:

• 25 projects obtained funding of a total value of Euro 1,770,000.
• 13 project proposals worth Euro 2,657,000 are in the process of evaluation.

Partnership agreements:
Private and public consulting organizations, a number of community based organizations, and World Vision signed a partnership agreement. They submitted 3 jointly prepared projects in view of obtaining funding for the community development in Iasi County.

International contacts and opportunities for business development:
A number of Romanian University and research staff contacted peer institutions from Ireland.  Irish business people visited Romanian entrepreneurs to investigate possibilities for business cooperation in areas such as horse breeding, milk processing, meat processing, and tourism.
